Everyone has a story
Having worked as a journalist, magazine editor and communications officer in Vancouver, B.C., for the last 18 years, I am an enthusiastic wordsmith inspired by the people and world around me.
Proudly at the helm of Canadian Immigrant magazine as editor for several years, I am always looking for that next idea or strategy to keep stories fresh and relevant.
I like to say that "everyone has a story," and writers like myself can help put yours into the right words. Here's a little bit about mine.
On any given morning, you will find me at my computer with a steaming cup of French-press coffee, starting the day off by researching and writing a magazine article. Today it could be the life story of one of Canada's top female entrepreneurs; tomorrow it could be about trends in going green.
Then, with my coffee forgotten and rapidly cooling, I might move onto finalizing a speech or a press release.
With a fresh refill, I may end the day by writing website content, doing a little editorial planning or catching up on social media.
When I'm not at my keyboard, I am a soccer mom of three boys, who are my personal inspirations in life and work. I even gained a local following with my "Mom's the Word" column in the Post newsmagazine in Abbotsford, B.C., for my articles and personal reflections on life, love, marriage, divorce and parenting.
